People

All people involved in the project are part of the MAT2D research team at C2N.

Main investigator

Fabrice Oehler, CNRS researcher is the main investigator of the OPTITASTE project. He is an expert in crystal growth using Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). He works in the C2N Materials Dpt to develop growth procedure and process to obtain high quality 2D materials.

The current focus is on transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD), and more specifically on Tungsten Di-Selenide (WSe2), Tungsten Di-Telluride (WTe2) and their alloys.

Other Investigators

Other members of the team at CNRS C2N include :

  • Abdelkarim Ouerghi, CNRS director of research, specialist in graphene synthesis and experimental band structure determination of 2D materials.
  • Julien Chaste, CNRS researcher, specialist in device fabrication from 2D materials and nano-mechanics in atomically thin membranes.

PhD candidate

Gaia di Berardino has been recruited in Fall 2022 as PhD candidate.

The planned investigations will first concentrate on the CVD growth of WSe2 and WTe2 separately, before the study of WSeTe alloys.
